PHAGWARA: In response to growing concerns from students and their families regarding the upcoming End Term Examinations and current academic activities, Lovely Professional University (LPU)Phagwara has issued a detailed advisory offering flexible options to students while reaffirming its commitment to their safety and academic continuity.

According to official communication (Ref No: LPU/10.2/ANN/2024/023/IC/250509/0005) released by the university on Friday, students have been given the liberty to choose between returning home or continuing their academic activities on campus, with appropriate accommodations being made for both categories.

Students who wish to return to their hometowns may do so at their discretion. For these students, the university has announced that their End Term Examinations may be conducted in online mode, provided such a mode aligns with prevailing government regulations. The specific dates and modalities for these online examinations will be communicated separately at a later stage. This option has been extended in recognition of students' concerns, and aims to offer flexibility while upholding academic standards.

For those opting to remain on campus, the examinations will proceed as per the original schedule already made available to students through the University Management System (UMS). These examinations will begin on Monday, May 12 following the existing format and timetable.

Furthermore, students whose academic classes are currently ongoing have also been permitted to leave for their hometowns if they wish. In such cases, the university will lock their attendance status as of the date of departure. These students, too, will be informed separately about their examination schedules in due course.

Meanwhile, students who do not wish to leave campus are encouraged to continue attending classes as scheduled from 12 May (Monday), based on the current academic timetable. This ensures that those who prefer in-person instruction are able to proceed with their studies uninterrupted.

The university has also laid out clear procedures for hostel residents who plan to return home. All such students are required to vacate their hostel rooms after clearing mandatory “no dues” formalities. Belongings must be securely stored in the designated cloakroom facility, in accordance with university norms.

In the official notice, LPU emphasized that the safety and well-being of students remains a top priority. The administration assured that it remains vigilant and responsive to any new guidelines that may be issued by government authorities, and that such developments will be incorporated into university policy as needed.

Students intending to return home have been instructed to submit their applications by 4:00 PM on May 9, 2025, using the official link: https://forms.gle/DCdv23A3B2yv6XHp9.

For additional queries, students may contact the university helpline at 01824-520150.
