Expert talk on role of health professionals at RBU

MOHALI: Rayat Bahra University organized a special guest lecture on `Role of various Health Professionals in Healing’ in collaboration with National Rehab Institute, Chandigarh and PGIMER, Chandigarh.

Dr Neena Mehta, DSW (W) introduced Dr Harmesh Kumar, President of the South Asian Behavioral Health Foundation, USA, who delivered the talk and interacted with the students of Nursing College, Physiotherapy College, Dental College, Pharmacy, and Medical Lab Technology.

Dr Harmesh Kumar, a Clinical Neuropsychologist of eminence, spoke about behavioral issues and their effects in daily life of the individual. He said that the meaning of education does not mean obtaining a degree only but education is a means to change yourself and then change others with your services.

He counseled the students not to have fear of failure. Healing profession is to give happiness to others. A candle burns itself to give light to others but that is not easy. He emphasized that respect, dignity, integrity and sincerity are the key ingredients of success.

Pro Vice-Chancellor Dr Manoj Manuja and Dr Chander K Sarin, Director-Principal, Rayat Bahra College of Nursing (RBCN) welcomed the guest.

Dr Dharamvir from PGIMER and Dr DV Rai, Ex-VC Shobit University, were also present on the occasion.

Dr Shaina Verma, Head of the Department of Physiotherapy and Dr Deepika, Vice-Principal of the Rayat Bahra College of Nursing (RBCN), with their teams managed the stage and the entire arrangements. Dr Neena Mehta proposed a vote of thanks to the speaker.
