Fashion Technology students put on a great show
MOHALI: The annual fashion show Meraki 2025 was organized by Fashion Technology students at Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Mohali, Jhanjeri Campus. Himanshi Khurana, actress and style icon; Rumaan Ahmed, famous model and fashion influencer; Hartaj Singh Sandhu, entertainment personality; and many other celebrities were present at the event.
The costumes designed by the fashion designing students impressed the entire audience, along with the renowned designs showcased. The senior students displayed their creativity through different themes and presentations, using a variety of colors and styles. The students presented designs based on eight themes, including Sainte-Chapelle — the beauty of stained glass windows, Sicilian Spirituality — a unique blend of spirituality and poetry, Forest — the Harmonious Nature — a salute to the beauty of nature, Badshahi Mosque — a combination of royal grandeur and modernity, Futuristic Victorianism — bold designs of the future, Chic Cheek Affairs — colorful and vibrant creations, Greek Goddess Athena — an expression of the power of gods and goddesses, Urban Fusion — a unique blend of tradition and modernity. Each design captivated the audience with its unique story.
At the end of the show, Akshita Dabral secured first position in the girls’ category, with Jia Kapoor as the first runner-up and Ridhima Pawar as the second runner-up. In the boys’ category, Hrithik Rajput won first position, followed by Mayank as first runner-up and Tanush Mehta as second runner-up.
MD Arsh Dhaliwal, while welcoming the guests, shared that the Fashion Technology course at CGC Mohali is gaining international recognition. He further stated that, thanks to the excellent results and strong placements from the Jhanjeri campus, the attention of leading fashion companies from India and abroad is now focused on CGC Jhanjeri. MD Dhaliwal encouraged students to pursue courses of their choice after class 12 and urged them to stay fully engaged in their studies. CGC Chairman Rachpal Singh Dhaliwal praised the students’ excellent performance and wished them a bright future.
