79 Engineering Students of CGC Jhanjeri Placed in Leading Companies

MOHALI: Another successful year shouldered as Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Jhanjeri concluded various placement drives on a high note. The numbers speak for themselves with 79 of the engineering students getting placed in leading companies.

It is an appreciable achievement not just for students but for college as well. Students from Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering & Civil Engineering bagged prestigious jobs in renowned companies from across the globe. Some well known recruiters include Cognizant (17 students), Wipro (10), HCL (10), Capgemini (8). Hettich India, L&T Technologies, and Coforge Limited (4 each). Embarking on their new journey, some of the selected candidates will now undergo six months industrial training as part of their final semester where they will be paid handsome stipends. Aman Mehta got placed in MuSigma and he will pocket a salary package of 30 LPA within a short period of time.

Some of the other top recruitments includes Suraj Pratap Singh in BYJUs at 10 LPA, Kiran Choudhary BA Continuum at 8.5 LPA, MD Mansur in Cubastion Consulting at 7.19 LPA, Sahil Gupta & Rahul Dubey in Capgemini at 6.8 LPA, and Raj Kumar in Nokia at 6.5 LPA. The average salary is around 5.5 LPA along with the accommodation, pick & drop facilities and meals at subsidized rates offered by some of these companies.

Expressing his delight on the phenomenal achievement of the students, S. Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President CGC stated, “The result of this year’s placement drive show the dedicated work done by CGC Jhanjeri and is in line with the vision of the management. Many students bagged job offers from more than one company with multiple companies converging at the college campus during placement drive.” Dr. G. G. Sastry, Director General stated, “Considering the pandemic scenario the entire world is going through, and a decline in the number of jobs available in the market, engineering students have to be at their best to grab the available positions. This performance shows the quality of education and impeccable placement service provided at CGC Jhanjeri and we continue to improve on it.”
