AMRITSAR: The football women team of Guru Nanak Dev University Amritsar has won silver medal in All India Inter-University Football (Women) Championship held at LNIPE, Gwalior and the men football team has won bronze medal in All India Inter-University Football (Men) Championship organized at University of Kota, Rajasthan. This is a remarkable achievement and a record to get two medals in football championship in a same year.
Dr. Kanwar Mandeep Singh, In-charge Sports Department of the University congratulated to the players and the coaches. He further said that this has only become possible with the due efforts of players and Coaches. He said that the University is dedicated towards overall development and promotion of sports culture in its campus and colleges.
Pardeep Kumar, Football Coach said that the University football players are dedicated and containing hard work psychology. He hoped that the University team will perform best in the future competitions.
