Amarinder Singh is now engineering organized fermentation of brazen communalism to achieve his narrow parochial gains with intent to out-maneuver his potential Sikh challengers in the Congress Party. It is exceedingly disparaging to see the disgraceful assemblage of ‘Hindu Leaders’ only at the luncheon meeting, hosted by the Congress Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh, yesterday at Chandigarh. The meeting of urban based ‘Hindu Leaders’ was actually the demonstration of Captain’s new brand of communalism and political opportunism to camouflage his colossal failures and rampant corruption in his ‘Mafia regime’.

CHANDIGARH: Punjab School Education minister Vijay Inder Singla, on Friday, said that as many as 12 government schools of Sangrur, Jalndhar, Ludhiana, Patiala, Hoshiarpur, SBS Nagar, Tarn Taran, Amritsar, SAS Nagar and Fatehgarh Sahib districts have been renamed after freedom fighters and martyrs of the state to give due respect to their valiant spirit.

NEW DELHI: After disgruntled Punjab Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu met Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Rahul Gandhi separately on Wednesday, there is a speculation that Priyanka Gandhi has suggested that Sidhu be made Punjab Congress chief, but Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh and some of the other factions in the party are not accepting this formula.

CHANDIGARH: With the state reeling under an unprecedented power shortage amid extreme temperatures, Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Thursday ordered curtailment in timings of state government offices from tomorrow, and cutting down of power supply to high energy consuming industries with immediate effect, to save crops and ease the domestic power situation.
