CHANDIGARH: The coalition government of the state has once again cheated the clerks who have been struggling for their salary hike for the last two decades by staging protests across the state and facing the brunt of the administration. The coalition government issued a notification and increased the pay scale of clerks on paper, but if one looked at the ground reality, no clerk would benefit from this pay scale. Due to which, the anger among the clerks due to this anti-employee policy of the government increased further and they have decided to protest against the government on an even bigger level in the nationwide strike on February 16.

Provincial President Hitendra Sihag and General Secretary Jagmendra Singh of Haryana Ministerial Staff Association, affiliated to Sarv Karmachari Sangh, and State Committee Member Sandeep Sangwan told that as per the election manifesto of BJP-JJP and the decision of the Cabinet of August 25, 2014, the number of clerks in the seventh pay commission was 35400 and they became entitle to. For which the clerk has been agitating for the last two decades. He told that during the tenure of the previous government, in the year 2012, theye protested and camped in Kurukshetra for 477 days continuously, demanding increase in pay scale, and in 2017, in the home district of former Education Minister Ram Bilas Sharma, they were on strike for 316 days.

Even after this, ministerial staff personnel staged various types of demonstrations, strikes and faced lathicharge. But despite this, instead of increasing the pay scale of the clerks, the government has issued a confusing notification to loot the applause without giving them anything. He told that in the notification issued by the government, the salary has been increased from Rs 19900 to Rs 21700, whereas the clerical category employees are already getting more salary than this. He said that not a single penny has been benefited by this notification of the government to any of the ministerial staff employees working across the state.

Employee leaders said that now every employee of every department across the state is fed up with the continuous anti-employee decisions being taken by the BJP-JJP coalition government and have started planning a big struggle against the government. He said that the ministerial staff, who are the backbone of the government, will not rest until their common demands including salary hike are met. He said that the government will see the trailer of the employees' anger in the nationwide strike on February 16.
