DHARAMSALA: Garoh village, on the outskirts of Dharamshala in Himachal Pradesh, has been rocked by a gruesome murder that claimed the life of a 45-year-old man on Monday.

The victim, identified as Vineet Kumar, a hospital employee in Kangra and father of two, was found lying in a pool of blood inside his home, bearing severe injuries. His elder son discovered the body around 5 p.m. after returning from his in-laws’ house and immediately informed police.

Initial investigation suggested the killing took place around noon. The brutality of the attack was evident, with early reports indicating the use of a sharp-edged weapon. Panic quickly spread across the area, and security was intensified. A forensic team collected evidence from the scene, and police registered a case of murder against unknown persons at the time.

However, in a dramatic turn of events early Tuesday morning, police arrested the victim’s 17-year-old younger son from Gurdaspur, Punjab. The juvenile has confessed to the crime.

Superintendent of Police Kangra, Ashok Rattan, said the search for the boy began immediately after the murder was reported, with Punjab Police providing full cooperation. According to the SP, both father and son were in the house during the incident, and preliminary findings indicate that Vineet Kumar died of a gunshot wound. Investigators also revealed that the two had a disagreement prior to the killing.
