We will eliminate unemployment from the state: OP Soni

AMRITSAR: The Punjab Government is committed to eradicate unemployment from the state and under this series the government has been recruiting for the last four and half years in government jobs and also organizing employment fairs to recruit youth in big companies. Employment is being provided.

These words were uttered by the Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Om Prakash Soni while inaugurating 10 more free courses at Multi Skill Development Center Kabir Park set up by Sun Foundation in partnership with Skill Development Mission.
Mr. Soni said that in today's age there is an urgent need to take the children towards vocational training so that they can become skilled and start their own business. He said that in today's technological age even big companies need skill training children so if the children get vocational training then they can easily get employment in big companies.
Praising Padmasree Vikramjit Singh Sahni, Chairman, Sun Foundation, Mr. Soni said that they were running about 50 Multi Skill Development Centers in the state where students could get training and get employment. Mr. Soni said that about 1000 children would be trained at this center and the target has been set to increase it to 2000 children next year. He said that training was imparted by the expert trainers in these centers and after completion of the training certificates were also given for the courses recognized by the government. Mr. Soni said that Mr. Sahni has helped a lot of needy people in Punjab even during the Corona epidemic.

Speaking on the occasion Padmasri Mr. Vikarjit Singh Sahni said that 10 new courses like Philf Sales Executive, Fitter Mechanical Assembly, Domestic Health Assistance, Food and Beverage Steward, Data Entry Operator, Customer Care Executive etc. have been started at this center. In addition, free computer classes are offered. He said that after completing this course students are also placed in companies. He said that all these courses are completed within 3 to 6 months. Mr. Sahni said that our organization Sun Foundation has also provided 2000 oxygen cylinders and constructors, mobile testing clinics and ambulances to the state during the Kovid-19 epidemic. Apart from this a lot of contribution is being made in drug de-addiction centers.
Mr. Soni was also honored by the Sun Foundation with a memento and a cultural program was presented by the children. Prominent amongst others who were present on the occasion included Deputy Commissioner Mr. Gurpreet Singh Khaira, Commissioner of Police Dr. Sukhchain Singh Gill, Additional Deputy Commissioner Mr. Ranbir Singh Mudhal, Mr. Sumit Gupta, Director Sun Foundation, Mrs. Parminderjit, Mr. Surinder Singh, Mr. Rahul Sharma, Mr. Ashok Sethi, Mr. Arvinder. Singh, Sr. GS Marwaha were also present.
