AMRITSAR: Prof. Karamjeet Singh, Vice-Chancellor of Guru Nanak Dev University, visited all the university hostels to personally interact with the inmate students. During his visit, he assured the students that GNDU stands firmly with them and is fully committed to their safety and well-being. He encouraged them to remain calm, be vigilant, and avoid panic.
The Vice-Chancellor informed the students that the university has already postponed the ongoing examinations in view of the current situation, and fresh dates will be notified in due course. “You are like our own children; there is no need to be tense. We are here to take care of you, ” he said, instilling confidence among the students.
Prof. Singh was accompanied by Dean Academic Affairs Prof. Palwinder Singh, Registrar Prof. K S Chahal, Dean Student Welfare Prof. Harinder Singh Saini, Associate DSWs Prof. Kamlesh and Prof. Pooja, along with Chief Security Officer Sh. Harinder Singh Sandhu.
The Vice-Chancellor also expressed his appreciation for Ms. Sakshi Sahni, Deputy Commissioner of Amritsar, for her proactive support and commendable handling of the tense situation, especially in ensuring the safety and care of GNDU students.
