Tourism brochure depicting heritage of SBS Nagar, unveiled by Deputy Commissioner

KHATKAR KALAN: Today during an event organized by District Administration SBS Nagar at the Ancestral House of Shaheed – E – Azam Bhagat Singh at Khatkar Kalan, Deputy Commissioner SBS Nagar Navjot Pal Singh Randhawa, IAS along with SDM, GA to DC SBS Nagar unveiled Tourism Pictorial Brochure and Portrait depicting Vibrant Cultural Tapestry of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, showcasing the lesser known Heritage, Cultural, Religious and Patriotic locations having historical and architectural treasures marking a rare milestone in promoting the heritage and cultural legacy of SBS Nagar on the Punjab Tourism map.

The pictorial brochure and portrait meticulously compiled by Punjab’s eminent Author, Nature Artist, Heritage Promoter & Lawyer Harpreet Sandhu in collaboration with District Administration SBS Nagar, is a testament to the diverse heritage that has shaped the identity and features ancient temples and historical monuments to traditional art forms and cultural festivities situated in Shahid Bhagat Singh Nagar.

The Pictorial Brochure portrays photographs taken by Dr. Akhil Chaudhary, IPS, Sanjana Saxena and Gangveer Rathore highlighting the rich heritage of SBS Nagar, which will serve not only as a visual delight but also as an educational tool for residents and tourists to explore and appreciate the cultural hidden gems and iconic heritage sites of SBS Nagar which include Khatkar Kalan Museum & Ancestral House of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Gurudwara Tahli Sahib, Gurdwara Raja Sahib, Col. Karan Dhandi’s Haveli, Garhpadhna, Baba Balraj Temple, Shivala Banna Temple, Bhagwan Parshuram Birth Place, Baradari Garden, Kirpal Sagar, Baudi Sahib Temple, Harappan Mounds in Charan, Rauza Sharif Madhali, Samadhi Rana Udho and Colonial Railway Station SBS Nagar that define SBS Nagar's rich history.

DC SBS Nagar Navjot Pal Singh Randhawa, IAS while unveiling the Portrait and Pictorial Brochures appreciated the sincere efforts of Harpreet Sandhu’s significant art work to highlight the lesser-known heritage locations of SBS Nagar. He further stated that the pictorial brochures will be available at local tourism centers, inviting individuals to embark on a visual journey that captures the heart and soul of SBS Nagar. People from all sections of the society as well as several NRI's based in USA, UK, Europe, Canada also graced the Heritage event and described the pictorial work to be of immense interest knowing the unseen Heritage locations of SBS Nagar.

Author, Nature Artist, Heritage Promoter, Harpreet Sandhu stated that it is for the first time that the Heritage locations as well as magnificent monuments of SBS Nagar having relevance with history has been compiled in form of a Brochure for the citizens enabling them to have glimpse of these Heritage locations of Punjab Tourism.
