The first budget session of the AAP Government should focus on strengthening State's Economy: S. Parminder Singh Dhindsa

CHANDIGARH: The senior leader of Shiromani Akali Dal (Sanyukt) and former Finance Minister, S. Parminder Singh Dhindsa said that as the Aam Aadmi Party government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann would present its first budget, he firmly hopes that this budget would not only be pro-people bit will also be focussed on improving the financial condition of the state.

S.Dhindsa said that the economic condition of Punjab has deteriorated drastically in the last few years. In addition to the economic downturn, the state's debt deficit has reached an all-time high. Therefore, the Mann government should seriously work ok improving the present deteriorating financial condition of the state.

During this seven-day budget session, the former finance minister said that besides allocating more funds for the agriculture sector, special care would be taken for debt relief for landless and farm labourers besides improving health and social sectors.

Besides this, he has also demanded the government that in the upcoming budget the government should also provide new employment opportunities for the youth along with ensuring maximum facilities to the senior citizens.

S. Dhindsa said that a bill should be introduced in the budget session to make permanent the employees recruited under the contractual system.

He said that Bhagwant Mann and Aam Aadmi Party had made many enticing promises in the Assembly fulfil. As a result, the people of Punjab have given such a big verdict in favour of AAP and now it is the responsibility of the government to fulfill all these promises and live up to the expectations of the people.
