Tenth Sikh Guru Gobind Singh’s 357th Parkash Purb celebrated with great enthusiasm

AMRITSAR: The 357th birth anniversary of Sri Guru Gobind Singh was celebrated with great enthusiasm and thousand of devotees took holy dip in the sacred sarovar of Golden Temple here today.

A religious diwan (congregation) was held at Gurdwara Manji Sahib in which several raagi jathas , dhaddi jathas and preachers recited the gurbani kirtan and thrown the light of teachings of Guru Gobind Singh.

The entire Golden Temple complex was decorated with colourful lights and fireworks was also organised after the bhog of Rehraas sahib path in the evening.

Meanwhilec the 357th birth anniversary' of tenth Guru, Sri Guru Gobind Singh JI was celeberated with religious fervor and devotion at Khalsa College campus here today. Organized as per the traditions set by the Khalsa College Charitable Society (KCCS), the `Gurpurab’ witnessed lectures on teachings and philosophy of Guru Sahib while Kirtan was performed by students of Khalsa College Public School (KCPS).

The Gurdwara complex was decorated tastefully with buntings and flowers. The teachers, students and staff members took part in the `Ardas’ (prayers) following the Bhog ceremony of Akhand Path and later the Langar (community kitchen) was served for devotees. KCGC honourary secretary Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina gave the message to the youth to follow the philosophy of the Guru, which he said was most relevant in the present strife-torn world.

A Sikh scholar Dr. Inderjit Singh Gagoani, gave detailed account of the life and teachings of the Guru. R.P.S. Chhina along with Khalsa College Principal Dr.Mehal Singh bestowed robe of honour (Siropas) to the students performing Kirtan.
KCGC office bearers Jatinder Singh Brar, Ajmer Singh Heir, Lakhwinder Singh Dhillon, Gurpreet Singh Gill, Members Sukhbir Kaur Mahal, Major Singh Sandhu, Principal Dr. Harpreet Kaur, Principal Dr. Surinder Kaur, Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh, Principal Kanwaljeet Singh, Dr. RK Dhawan, Nanak Singh, Gurdev Singh, Puneet Kaur Nagpal, AS Gill, Gurinderjit Kaur, Nirmaljit Kaur Gill, DS Rataul and others were present during the ceremony.

Similarly the gurpurb was also celebrated at Tarn Taran, Goindwal sahib, Patti, Bhikhiwind, Ajnala and other parts of Amritsar district.

Baba Balbir Singh Nihang chief of 96 crori has also congratulated the Sikhs for birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh and appealed the Sikhs to follows the teachings of the Guru and become Amritdhari.
