Strict action in kapurthala against MCC violation- 18 notices issued to various Political parties

KAPURTHALA:District administration in kapurthala adopts the zero tolerance policy against the violation of Model Code of Conduct during the ongoing process of assembly polls as 18 notices issued to the various political parties today.

District Electoral officer cum Deputy commissioner kapurthala Mrs. Deepti Uppal today in a vedio conference with the ADCs, Nodal officers and Returning officers, ordered that the officials on election duty should take swift action against any kind of violation of MCC.

The notices which was issued today includes 9 by the RO Phagwara (SC) assembly segment to the SAD, BSP, AAP and Congress.

In kapurthala, the RO have issued 4 notices, which have 2 each for Congress and Aam Adami party. In bholath assembly constituency, Returning officer has issued a notice to congress whereas in sultanpur lodhi, 4 notices were issued to the SAD by Returning officer. All these notices have been issued for organising political gatherings without taking prior approval from the competent authority.

In the vedio conference, police officials have informed that 99% licensed weapons were deposited in the district to ensure peaceful polls.

Deputy commissioner also asked the officials to speed up the distribution of form 12 D to ensure the use of democratic right by the above 80 years, physically challenged voters and covid patients from home via postal ballot.
