Show cause notices issued to 452 absentees from poll rehearsal

KAPURTHALA:On the directions of Deputy commissioner cum district electoral officer kapurthala Deepti Uppal today show cause notices issued to 452 employees who were found absent from first poll rehearsal yesterday.

Today in a review meeting with the ADCs , Returning officers and Nodal officers, she has informed that a special board has been constituted comprising the ADC D Mr SP Angra, ADC G Aditya Uppal and Civil surgeon Dr Gurinderbeer kaur to decide the applications regarding the exemption from poll duty.

Deputy commissioner also said that the board will decide the exemption cases.

She also said that as per the instructions of ECI, maximum gathering of 50 persons can be made for political purposes besides asking the Returning officers to take stern action against the political persons or parties to organise political rallies without taking prior permission from competent authority.

Urging the people to use the C-Vigil app to assist the administration for proper implementation of model code of conduct, she said that people can post pics or vedios via this app which would be redressed within 100 mints.

Deputy commissioner also asked the authorities to speed up the distribution of 12 D forms to the above 80 years age group people and Physically challenged people to enable them to cast their votes from home via postal ballot.

It may be mentioned here that till today 3571 people got these forms. Besides that the district administration has received 178 election related complaints, out of which 173 were disposed off.

Prominent amongst present on the occasion included ADC D S P Angra , ADC G Aditya Uppal, all Returning and nodal officers.
