SGPC is constantly working for the welfare of humanity:Bibi Jagir Kaur

AMRITSAR: The foundation stone of the new block of Gaini and Bacha Ward at Sri Guru Ram Dass Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Valla under the management of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee was laid today by SGPC President Bibi Jagir Kaur at vallah 10 kilometres from here today.

Speaking on the occasion Bibi Jagir Kaur said that while the SGPC was working in the field of management and education of Gurdwaras, health services were also being provided for the welfare of humanity.

She said that Sri Guru Ram Dass Medical Institute was one of the leading institutes in the country under the auspices of the Shiromani Committee and the Sikh Institute was constantly working for its expansion as required. Under this a new block of Gaini ward is being set up.

Jagir Kaur said that this ward would cost an estimated Rs. 4 crore and treatment would be provided here with better facilities.

The three-storey ward will have 7 lecture halls, rehabilitation department, treatment room, doctors' rooms, 10-bed ICU, 12 private rooms, 2 wards and 2 labs. He said that Sri Guru Ram Dass Hospital always works to help the needy. Patients are treated for free delivery, cheap tests and low cost. He said that the main objective of the Sikh body was human welfare.

She said that Guru Ram Dass Medical Institute had provided various services to the people during the Corona epidemic in the past.

Free corona vaccination is ongoing, with camps being set up at Sri Guru Ram Dass Hospital as well as at various Gurdwaras.

At the same time, patients were treated by opening a Corona Care Center.

On this occasion the senior vice president of the Shiromani Committee S. Surjit Singh Bhitewad, General Secretary Advocate Bhagwant Singh Sialka, Shiromani Committee Member S. Amrik Singh Vichhoa, . Dr. Jodh Singh Samra, Vice Chancellor, Sri Guru Ram Dass Medical University Dr. Daljit Singh, Director Principal Dr. Manjit Singh Uppal, Dean A.P. Singh, Dean Academic Dr. Shaukin Singh, Dr. Pankaj, Deputy Secretary. Dr. Kulwinder Singh Ramdas, OSD Sukhbir Singh, Dr. Amrik Singh Latifpur and others were present.
