SGPC decided to resume a series of Gurmat events dedicated 400th birth anniversary of Guru Teg Bahadur

AMRITSAR:The Steering Committee of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee has decided to resume a series of Gurmat events dedicated to the 400th birth anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib. Under this, events would be organized at various places in Punjab and other states of the country and there would also be major events on a large scale. Speaking to reporters after the meeting of the Interim Committee, Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee President Bibi Jagir Kaur said that the ceremonies of 400-year-old Prakash Purab were briefly held due to Corona and if the situation remained favorable, the ceremonies would be resumed soon.

She said that in this regard the duties of preachers were being imposed, who would outline the events at various places.

She said that these granthis should be familiar with pure Gurbani recitation and history.

Bibi Jagir Kaur while talking to media said that the Interim Committee has also decided to open drug stores and labs for testing at various historical Gurdwaras under the management of the Shiromani Committee dedicated to the 400th birth anniversary of the Ninth Patshah Ji. He said that earlier a decision was taken in this regard at Golden Temple, which is being prepared. In detail, these stores and labs will now be opened in various Gurdwaras as well.

she said that the aim of Sikh organization was to provide cheap medicines to the needy without any profit or loss.

She said that the SGPC had also provided huge facilities to the people to deal with the corona epidemic through Sri Guru Ram Dass Medical College. Under this, Corona Care Ward and Corona Vaccine were organized on a large scale.

She said that so far around Rs. 2.5 crore has been spent on services to save the people from Corona.

The SGPC President said that these services would continue uninterrupted and all necessary arrangements would be made.

Jagir Kaur said that the SGPC would soon construct new Saravas to extend the accommodation facility to the pilgrims visiting the Golden Temple. Under this, new rooms will be constructed on the site of Guru Ram Das Sarha to replace the unusable rooms, but the exterior will be maintained. Bibi Jagir Kaur also said that many Sikhs have been martyred in Guru Ram Dass Sarai during the June 1984 riots and their names would be inscribed and photographed in a suitable place to commemorate them.

Apart from this all the rooms of the first practice will also be renovated as required.

Bibi Jagir Kaur also informed that the SGPC had released around Rs. 3 crore for the farmers who died during the Kisan Sangharsh as well as the injured and sick farmers.

Regarding the building structure found during the excavation of the twin house and vehicle stand being constructed outside the Golden Temple, the SGPC President said that a team from the Archaeological Department has reached out to it and if it is related to Sikh history, it will be taken care of. Will go He said that this corridor was constructed by the government after the military attack of 1984 by demolishing people's houses and shops.

She said that there should be no politics in this matter as the SGPC was acting as a responsible body. Former Jathedar Giani Joginder Singh Vedanti, former Head Granthi Giani Bhagwan Singh and former Vice President .

A resolution was also passed approving the display of pictures of Duleep Singh Malunangal in the Central Sikh Museum and a vote of thanks was taken by Giani Mohan Singh, former head granthi of Sri Harmandir Sahib for naming his house after Sri Darbar Sahib.

At the same time, the Interim Committee also met Sikh scholar Dr. Jodh Singh and the flying Sikh. Expressing sorrow over the demise of Milkha Singh, he paid tributes to the departed souls.
