Senior journalist Bahadurjeet Singh joins Congress

RUPNAGAR: Senior journalist and president of District Press Clubs Association, Rupnagar Bahadurjeet Singh has joined the Congress.Punjab chief minister Charanjit Singh Channi inducted him in to the party.

Welcoming Bahadurjeet Singh in to the party Charanjit Singh Channi said that he was happy that a progressive and honest journalist like Bahadurjeet Singh had joined the party, which required such leaders.

He said that Bahadurjeet Singh belonged to respectable family, who had served the society as journalist and now he had decided to serve the Congress.

He said that due recognition would be given to Bahadurjeet Singh in the party.

Thanking AICC president Sonia Gandhi former president Rahul Gandhi, chief minister Charanjit Singh Channi and Punjab Congress president Navjot Singh Sidhu on joining the party, Bahadurjeet Singh said that he felt proud that he had had joined a secular party like Congress and assured that he would work dedicatedly for strengthening the party.

It may be mentioned that Bahadurjeet Singh belongs to a traditional Congress family.His father late Kavishar Harnam Singh was a freedom fighter, his father late advocate Hazura Singh remained member of Punjab Subordinate Services Selection Board(PSSSB) and his mother late Karamjit Kaur was a noted social activist.

Bahadurjeet Singh is a law graduate and had also done Master of Journalism and Mass Communication. He remained active in the field of journalism in various capacities and worked for various prominent media organisations. He also remained president of Rupnagar Press Club for 12 consecutive years and remained associated with various government committees.He is also associated with various social organisations.Now he has started new innings in the politics.
