CHANDIGARH: The Punjab State schedule Caste Commission directed DGP Punjab to implement reservation policy in promotions and new recruitments in Punjab Police in view of Punjab government's instructions.
Disclosing this here today Mrs. Tejinder Kaur, Chairperson of the Commission said that Mr. Mukesh Kumar, a resident of village Nanak Nagri, Chehru of Phagwara tehsil of Kapurthala district had submitted an application to the Commission to direct Punjab Police to implement reservation policy at the time of promotions and recruitment, which is not being implemented.
Mrs. Tejinder Kaur said the complainant also said that Punjab Police has extended reserve points in merit and seniority at the time of recruitment and promotions but this is absolutely contrary to the letter no. 1/35/2017-RCI / 1071544/1 dated 25-09-2017.
