BHADAUR: Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal today said the contest for the 2027 assembly elections had become clear with the Shiromani Akali Dal arraigned against the forces of Delhi - be it the Congress, Aam Aadmi Party or the Bharatiya Janata Party. “All the Delhi based parties come to rule and loot while the SAD is commited to the ‘sewa’ of Punjabis”.
The SAD president, who addressed a mammoth gathering here as part of the party’s Punjab Bachao movement, also lauded Akali workers for not flinching from their seats despite rain showers. “This enthusiasm and dedication towards the party proves there is no real competition for the SAD in the 2027 assembly elections”. He also thanked party Halka incharge Satnam Singh Rahi and his team for making the party rally a splendid success.
Urging the people of Punjab to stop experimentation, Mr Sukhbir Badal said “the SAD alone has been with you through thick and thin. The SAD is also responsible for all the development achieved by the State till now be it four lane roads, irrigation works, thermal plants, airports, making Punjab power surplus or unique social welfare schemes like Aata- Dal, Shagun and Old Age Pension. The Congress and AAP don’t have one single thing to their credit”.
Asserting that Punjab had suffered tremendously in the last 9 years, Mr Badal said “both the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party have looted the State and its resources and bankrupted it. The SAD is committed to taking all to them to account. We will on formation of our govt in 2027 take action against all acts of corruption committed by Congmen and AAP leaders. They will have to repay each and every rupee looted by them”.
Mr Badal also announced that a Commission would be formed to review all false cases registered by the AAP government. He said AAP leaders as well as police officers responsible for registering false cases against innocents would be proceeded against as per law.
Later while addressing a media query, Mr Badal said the Invest Punjab summit hosted by the AAP government had turned out to be damp squib. “The AAP government failed to do anything for four years and now at the fag-end of their tenure they have resorted to a propaganda exercise to befool voters”. He also asserted that the AAP government should have honoured the SAD on the occasion as it only had the achievements of the SAD to show to investors.
