Delhi Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu paid obeisance at the martyrdom shrine Gurdwara Tahla Sahib

AMRITSAR: After being appointed as the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, Taranjit Singh Sandhu visited Amritsar for the first time and paid obeisance at Sri Darbar Sahib and the martyrdom shrine Gurdwara Baba Deep Singh Ji Tahla Sahib, Chabba, to express gratitude to the Guru. On the occasion, Baba Darshan Singh Tahla Sahib honoured him with a siropa.

Earlier, a thanksgiving Ardas was performed by Giani Soorta Singh. Later, he partook in Guru Ka Langar. Interacting with select journalists on the occasion, Sandhu said that his grandfather Sardar Teja Singh Samundri played a significant role not only in the Gurdwara Reform Movement but also in India’s freedom struggle. He also mentioned that his father, noted educationist Sardar Bishan Singh Samundri, had also received great honour from the Guru’s house.

Tarunjit Singh Sandhu said that although there are many challenges in his path, he will humbly accept the honour bestowed by the Guru’s grace and strive to overcome every challenge with dedication and integrity. He further stated, “The turban on my head is not merely my identity but the pride of the Sikh community. I will continue to work tirelessly to further enhance its dignity and honour.”

On this occasion, Punjab BJP Secretary Suraj Bhardwaj, Parmjit Singh Pammi, Punjab BJP spokesperson Prof. Sarchand Singh Khiala, former MLA Harjinder Singh Thekedar, former Chairman Gurpratap Singh Tikka, former Senior Deputy Mayor Ajevearpal Singh Randhawa, Gurkirat Singh, Maninderjit Singh Thekedar, Sukhwinder Singh Tera, Kashmir Singh Pradhan, Manager Randeep Singh, Baljit Singh Billa, Dilbagh Singh Sai, Gursevak Singh Tahla Sahib, Gursaheb Singh, Palwinder Singh Bhola Sandhu, Baljit Singh Raju, Jaswinder Singh and Gurmeet Singh Sultanwind were also present.
