Punjab Government committed To strengthen Citizen Centric services infrastructure in state: Sadhu Singh Dharamsot

PATIALA: Cabinet Minister for Forests, Social Justice, Empowerment and Minorities, Sadhu Singh Dharamsot today inaugurated the newly constructed building of Sadar Police Station Patiala, built at a cost of Rs. 2 crore.
Referring to the efforts being made by the state government under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh to strengthen the infrastructure of citizen centric service departments in the state, he said that today as many as nine newly constructed buildings of police stations were Inaugurated across Punjab, digitally as well as physically. Apart from laying the foundation stone for the construction of four new tehsils, 151 Health and Wellness Centers and District Administrative Complex of historic district Amritsar have also been thrown opened after completion.
He said that Punjab government had started from the very first day of taking over the reins of the state for the betterment of the people, due to which Punjab has emerged as a better state today as compared to that of 10 years of previous government. Referring to the improvement in the law and order situation in Punjab, he said that as many as 3047 gangsters have been arrested so far as per the instructions given by the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh. Referring to the success of the state government in the fight against drugs, he said that more than 41, 500 cases have been registered in the last four years and more than 52, 500 smugglers have been sent to jail.
The SSP, Mr. Vikram Jeet Duggal, present with him, on the occasion said that Sadar Police Station Patiala has been equipped with all the state-of-the-art facilities where a help desk has been set up for the convenience of the general public from where the general public would be able to get information regarding their applications and other police related services. He said that the LEDs installed with the help desk, will made aware the public as well as staff of the instructions issued by the government from time to time. He said that in this police station the record of applications and FIRs lodged by the general public would be kept digitally so that the information sought by the general public regarding applications or cases could be provided immediately.
He said that a special juvenile room has been set up at the police station for juveniles and a separate room has also been set up for women. He said that all the state-of-the-art facilities have been provided in the rooms of the investigating officers in the police station.
On this occasion, PRTC Chairman K.K. Sharma, Punjab Social Welfare Board Chairperson Gursharan Kaur Randhawa, Punjab Large Industry Board Senior Vice Chairman K.K. Sehgal, Urban Congress President K.K. Malhotra, SP City Varun Sharma, DSP Rural Ajay Pal Singh, DSP Ghanour Jaswinder Singh Tiwana was also present.
Earlier while participating in the video conferencing chaired by the Local Bodies Minister, Brahm Mohindra, Mr Dharamsot said that it was a happiest moment for the Patiala residents having 16 new Health and Welness Centers to get health facilities at doorsteps. Now, the number of total wellness centers have increased to 132 in the district. Deputy Commissioner Kumar Amit, District Women Congress President, Kiran Dhillon, Chairman, District Grievances Redressal Committee, Jasbir Inder Singh Dhindsa, Youth Congress President Urban, Anuj Khosla and Assistant Commissioner Dr. Ismat Vijay Singh and Civil Surgeon Dr. Satinder Singh were also present.
