Punjab CM stops multiple pensions of former MLAs, savings will be used for public welfare

CHANDIGARH: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann today ordered to stop multiple pensions of former MLAs running into crores of Rupeess.

Mann announced that multiple pensions were big burden on treasury as former MLAs were getting upto 5 pensions every month. He said that only one pension will be paid to them. He said that political leaders seet votes in the name of doing social service and end up serving themselves. He said that political parties gave luring slogans of 'Raj Nahi Sewa' but in fact doing no sewa.

CM said that his government would be taking big steps to end unemployment and to boost financial position of state.

The people of Punjab were demanding to discontinue multiple pensions. It became a big issue during electins. Parkash Singh Badal former CM was getting about 5.40 lakh pension in a month. He had recently offered to surrender the pension after being attacked on social media.
