AMRITSAR: Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami reacting to the statement made by Bhagwant Singh Mann regarding the transmission of Gurbani from Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib, he said that the government should not interfere in the affairs of Guru Ghars.
Advocate Dhami said that the work of the government is its own and the work of the field of religion is its own.
He said that the Shiromani Committee was an elected representative body of the Sikh Panth which was constantly working for the management of Gurdwaras as well as for the propagation of the religion.
The SGPC President said that there are many things which have to be done only by the government. The budget session of the SGPC and even before that the government was repeatedly requested to beautify the rest of the roads leading to Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib on the pattern of beautification done earlier on Ghanta Ghar side.
At the same time we have appealed to the SC to issue SC scholarships worth crores of rupees to the educational institutions which are pending with the government and also to resolve the pending issues regarding the staff of aided schools but the government has not taken any action in this regard.
The SGPC President said that the Chief Minister should pay attention to these acts of the government and not engage in politics.
He said that the issue of Gurbani broadcasting had been discussed by the Chief Minister and the SGPC had already started its efforts in this regard.
He said that as per the order of Jathedar Akal Takht, a seven member sub-committee has already been constituted by the SGPC and as per its report further action would be taken.
Advocate Dhami said that the services of Guru Ghars are run by the offerings made by the Sangat and the Sangat is capable of doing everything.
He said that Punjab Chief Minister should focus on the work to be done by the government instead of misleading the sangat by playing politics in the name of religion.
