Punjab CM reiterates to full fill all promises despite having limited time

HOSHIARPUR: Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi on Sunday asserted that despite less time, all out efforts would be made to realise the dreams of people by fulfilling the remaining promises made to the people.His statement came after PPCC president Navjot Sidhu wrote letter to AICC president Sonia Gandhi on performance of Punjab Government.

Reiterating his Government’s firm commitment to ensure holistic development in the state and welfare of all sections of the society, Charanajit Singh Channi said that judicious utilisation of time would be done to achieve the goal for betterment of the state.

In his address during a function held at local MLA Sunder Sham Arora’s residence, the Chief Minister said the State Government was working round the clock to ensure overall development and timely completion of ongoing infrastructure works as the urban development is a crucial component of holistic growth. All basic amenities in urban areas will be provided to the people in the urban areas keeping in view their future needs, said Channi adding that there was no dearth of funds for the same.

Announcing Rs. 10 crore for the Hoshiarpur to be given within next few days, the Chief Minister said that his Government was already making best use of available time so as touch new heights of success and glory in the state as per peoples’ aspirations. Pointing out further, the CM also announced that Hoshiarpur would get state-of-the-art Biodiversity and Sports Park at a cost of Rs. 5 crore to further develop flora & fauna in the region. He said that foundation stone of the said Park and the upcoming Medical College would be laid shortly. However, Channi said that the classes of this medical college would commence from the next academic session. All the necessary directions have already been issued to expedite the process for tender floating so that its construction could be started at the earliest, he added. He also announced a fund of Rs. 1 crore for District Bar Association for the construction of advocates’ chambers.
Citin that Punjab Government has announced a major relief to waive off arrears of electricity bills to more than 52 lakh consumers up to 2KW of all sections of society, Charanjit Singh Channi said that Rs. 1200 crore had been set aside, of which Rs. 11 crore was of only Hoshiarpur consumers. He reiterated that the State Government would provide all basic amenities in the urban areas as per the master plan including robust water supply and sewerage system.

Expressing gratitude to the CM, MLA Sunder Sham Arora said that the state Government under the stewardship of Mr. Channi would certainly fulfil the aspirations of people in order to realise their dreams. Arora said that Punjab Government was working overtime for implementing the pro-people decisions especially for poor and needy. He also thanked the CM for making significant announcement for the all round development of Hoshiarpur.

Extending a healing touch to the children, who lost their parents during COVID-19 pandemic, Channi handed over packets containing daily use items and some cash to them. The CM was honoured by the different societies namely the Sikh Welfare Society, Bhai Kanahiya Welfare Society, Bhagwan Valmik Welfare Society, Sri Guru Ravidas Welfare Society, Satguru Welfare Society and Municipal Corporation Safai Union Welfare Society.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister also went to the residences of MLA Arun Dogra and MLA Pawan Kumar Adia, where he met the families of both MLAs and interacted with them. At the residence of MLA Adia, the Chief Minister also handed over sports kits to youth club of village Bhikhowal.

Later on the Chief Minister visited MLA Dr. Raj Kumar Chabbewal’s residence, where he had blessings of parents of MLA Chabbewal. Speaking on the occasion, Charanjit Singh Channi said that Punjab Government would leave no stone unturned for the welfare of the all sections of society. He said that the State was working on various welfare programs to be implemented shortly. Dr. Chabbewal while thanking Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi said that ‘Mera Ghar, Mere Naam’ scheme would be immensely helpful to confer proprietary rights to the needy people residing within ‘lal lakir’.

Prominent amongst those present during these visits included Forests and Labour Minister Sangat Singh Gilzian, MLA Mukerian Indu Bala, Mayor Surinder Kumar, President District Congress Committee Dr. Kuldeep Nanda, Member NRI Commission Punjab Daljit Singh Sahota and Market Committee Chairman Rajesh Gupta.
