PCC president Warring with warriors-Session: raps Mann for letting down govt employees
CHANDIGARH: Punjab Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring today lashed out at the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann for letting down the state government employees and using brutal force to crush their voice.
In his second session of interaction with the “Congress Warriors”, Warring also criticized the AAP government for deliberately denying the DA and Old Pension Scheme to the state government employees.
Maintaining that both the BJP government at the centre and the AAP government in Punjab were resorting to brutal terror against opponents, he said, the way centre government used police force to crush the students, same way the AAP government was using the police force against all sections of the society in Punjab.
“On the one hand Bhagwant Mann claims that state has enough money for everything, on the other hand he says, it does not have money to pay DA to the employees”, he pointed out, while criticizing the government’s decision to appeal against the High Court orders on DA payment in the Supreme Court of India.
He noted that while the government can spend Rs 1000 crores on advertisements, it does not have any money for employees’ DA.
Coming out strongly in support of the government employees, he reminded Mann, that these were the same people who had immense contribution in getting the AAP government formed in the state. “You had promised them a lot of things and the moment you took over, you not only forgot everything, but resorted to barbaric force to crush them”, he told the Chief Minister, while adding, the Mann government had not spared anyone be they the farmers, the labourers, the safai karamcharis, teachers or the PSPCL staff.
Sad part of the story, Warring regretted, was that this was being done under the nose of someone who always described himself to be the “son of a teacher”. He said, 4 lakh families were impacted by Mann’s refusal to pay them the DA which was their rightful due.
PCC president also asked the Chief Minister what happened to the Old Pension Scheme, which not only had the AAP promised to implement but had even issued notification. “But, true to its character, the AAP issued the notification to fool the employees”, he said.
Drawing comparisons with the Congress governments, he said, the Congress’ governments had implemented the OPS in three states of Himachal Pradesh and earlier in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh when it was the Congress government there.
Hitting out at Mann, Warring said, “people of Punjab did not elect you to crack jokes from the stage or pull arrows in the thin air, but they had elected you to bring in the change you had a promised”. He said, not only had Mann failed in his promises, but his behaviour was like that of a mischievous kid who would crack jokes on others to amuse people.
