Pathbreaking initiatives under Industrial & Business Development Policy-2017 have ensured congenial atmosphere for industry promotion: Sunder Sham Arora

CHANDIGARH: Pathbreaking initiatives undertaken by Captain Amarinder Singh government through Industrial & Business Development Policy-2017 have ensured congenial atmosphere for industry promotion, Industries Minister Sunder Sham Arora stated here today.

Punjab has already got 91, 000 crore worth investment operational on the ground, Arora said pointing out that measures like ease of doing business, auto-renewals, besides combined inspections, and online land allotment have facilitated industrial progress in the state.

Pertinently, the requirement of renewal of registration under the Punjab Shops and Commercial Establishments Act, 1958 has been eliminated in the State, while Auto-renewal has been mandated for Registration under The Factories Act 1948, the License for Contractors under provision of and The Contracts Labour (R&A) Act, 1970 and Registration of Contractors under The Inter-State Migrant Workmen (RE&CS) Act, 1979, the Minister said.

Auto retention is provided for Drug Manufacturing/Selling/Storage License, while Combined Inspections have been implemented through a computerized Central Inspection System (www.pbinspections.gov.in) for random compliance inspections under the suggested Acts pertaining to Departments of Labour and Legal Metrology, Directorate of Boilers and Punjab Pollution Control Board, the Minister added.

Government of Punjab has also implemented a computerized system for allocation of the land parcels through E-Auction in the state of Punjab. Online system helps investors in receiving allotment letter in an efficient manner.
