FEROZEPUR: The Punjab State Ministerial Services Union in association with other fraternal employees' unions today organized a two-day Punjab Bandh on December 28 and 29 against the anti-employee behavior of the Congress government in the state. There was a complete lockout of departments and a complete boycott of government functions.
As soon as all the office hours started today, the enraged employees locked both the gates of the District Administrative Complex and started a protest in front of the gates led by PSMSU District Ferozepur President Mr. Manohar Lal Gates. .

Mr. Govid Mutnoja President Food Supply Department, Mr. Amandeep Singh President Treasury Department, Mr. Praveen Kumar General Secretary Grade IV Union and Mr. Sukhchain Singh District President Addressing a large gathering of employees, the Steno Typists Association strongly condemned the anti-employee policies of the Punjab Congress government. The employees leaders condemned the government for withholding the allowances being given to government employees and demanded immediate release of rural allowances, border allowances and other allowances. The leaders demanded that the employees promoted after 2016 be given the option of being given the benefit of pay commission from the date of promotion. The employees leaders warned the state government that if the aforesaid demands of the Punjab employees were not immediately complied with and implemented, the government would face a fiercer struggle in the days to come. Hundreds of employees of various departments joined the dharna and chanted slogans against the Congress government in Punjab.
