No need to panic over RTI Act and provide timely information - State Information Commissioners Anumit Singh Sodhi and Khushwant Singh

FEROZEPUR: State Information Commissioner Punjab Anumit Singh Sodhi and Shri. Mr. Khushwant Singh while discussing RTI 2005 with the heads of all the departments of the district at the District Administrative Complex said that the officers should not be intimidated by the RTI Act and should provide the information sought by the candidates in a timely manner.

He said that in order to provide timely information sought by the candidates regarding RTI Act during the Corona epidemic, online techniques were being resorted to and in order to provide timely and accurate information to the candidates. Is also inspired.

He said that in order to properly understand the RTI Act, the officers should continue to seek information through online seminars and online techniques conducted by the commission so that they do not face any difficulty in answering the candidates.
He elaborated on the queries raised by the RTI officials and employees and directed that there was no need to panic over the RTI Act. Priority should be given to provide the same information as requested by the candidates.

He also directed the authorities in particular to make available the information requested by the candidates under the RTI Act in a timely manner during the Corona epidemic. Issued.
He said that it was observed that due to the presence of 50 per cent staff during the Kovid epidemic, the response to some RTIs could not reach the candidate in time due to which the appeals of many candidates reached the Commission for providing information.

He said that for this the officers should dispose of the RTIs in their offices in time so that the candidate could get the information in time.

On this occasion Deputy Commissioner Ferozepur Mr. Gurpal Singh Chahal, SSP Officials from various departments including Bhagirath Meena, SDM Amit Gupta and Assistant Commissioner Ravinder Arora were also present.
