Narur Youth Gurjot Singh Commissioned as Lieutenant in Indian Army, Posted to Bhuj

PHAGWARA: Twenty-two-year-old Gurjot Singh of village Narur near Phagwara has achieved his childhood ambition of serving the nation by being commissioned as a Lieutenant in the Indian Army, a moment of immense pride for his family and the local community. 

Inspired from an early age by the values imparted by his grandfather Sardar Harbans Singh, and guided by the constant support and discipline of his father Gurdip Singh and the prayers and affection of his mother Baljinder Kaur,  Gurjot remained firmly focused on his goal. The only brother of Satveen Kaur, he pursued his education with determination and completed his graduation from Chandigarh University before proceeding for rigorous military training. 

Gurjot’s father said that his son was resolute in his decision to earn an officer’s commission and serve the country in uniform. His hard work and perseverance during training at the Indian Army’s academy in Gaya, Bihar, ultimately paid off, bringing immense joy to the family when they saw him proudly don the officer’s uniform and receive his commission as a Lieutenant. Gurjot Singh has been posted to Bhuj in Gujarat as his first assignment.

 Sharing his feelings, Lieutenant Gurjot Singh credited his success to the unwavering faith and encouragement of his family, stating that their trust gave him strength during the most challenging phases of training and motivated him to keep striving until he achieved his goal.
