Mother son duo travel agents booked for duping Shahkot village resident of Rs 3.5 Lakhs

SHAHKOT:The Shahkot police have booked a mother son duo travel agents for allegedly duping a Shahkot village a resident of Rs.3.5 Lakhs on the pretext of sending him abroad.

The investigating officer (IO) and Malsian police post-in-charge Sanjivan Singh said that the accused have been identified as Kulbir Kaur a resident of Essewal village and her son Mandip Singh.

The investigating officer said that Sukhwindar Singh a resident of Mir Pur Saidan village complained to Jalandhar(rural) senior superintendent of police (SSP ) that he paid Rs 3.5 lakhs to the accused for facilitating his migration abroad but the accused did not send him abroad nor returned the money back.

IO said that a case under sections 406 (breach of trust), 420 (cheating)of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and section 13 of the Punjab Travel Profession Regulation Act has been registered against the accused after an inquiry.
