PATIALA:A meeting of Under Trial Review Committee, District Legal Services Authority, Patiala was held under the supervision of Sh. Rajinder Aggarwal, District & Sessions Judge-cum- Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Patiala. Sh. Rajinder Aggarwal told that this meeting was convened as per the directions of High Power Committee under the Chairmanship of Hon'ble Mr. Justice Ajay Tewari, Judge Punjab & Haryana High Court-cum- Executive Chairman, Punjab State Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar. In this meeting total 06 cases relating to undertrial Prisoners were considered and necessary recommendations were issued to the concerned courts where the trials are pending . Sh. Kumar Amit, Deputy Commissioner, Patiala and Dr. Sandeep Garg, SSP, Patiala, Sh. Amit Malhan, CJM, Patiala, Ms Parminder Kaur, CJM-cum-Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Patiala, also participated in this meeting.
Apart from this, a meeting of Criminal Injuries Compensation Board was also convened to grant of compensation amount to the victims of Acid Attacks under the Chairmanship of Sh. Rajinder Aggarwal, District & Sessions Judge, Patiala. In this meeting, Sh. Kumar Amit, Deputy Commissioner, Patiala, Sh. Sandeep Garg, SSP, Sh. Amit Malan, CJM, Ms Parminder Kaur, CJM/Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Patiala and Sh. Prince Sodhi, Civil Surgeon, Patiala participated in this meeting. Total 04 cases regarding acid attack victims were considered in this meeting for compensation and total award of amounting Rs.14, 50, 000/- in four cases was passed in favour of victims.
