CHANDIGARH: The Bharatiya Janata Party SC Morcha has opposed the approval of the Land Pooling Policy 2025 by the state cabinet led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.
State vice-president of the Bharatiya Janata Party Scheduled Caste Morcha Paramjit Singh Kainth said that the policy, which will initially cover 27 cities and towns, will be a forcible use of political will in the name of voluntary participation of landowners and will be a form of coercion and violation of the interests of Scheduled Castes and poor families who work hard to maintain their existence in the agricultural sector.
Dalit leader Sardar Kainth said that the interests of agricultural labourers dependent on agriculture have been neglected and deprived by the Aam Aadmi Party government. Unlike traditional land acquisition methods, the land pooling model allows owners to voluntarily give up their land for development and in return receive a share of the developed property, BJP leader Paramjit Kainth said that this policy will destroy the future of farmers and agricultural labourers dependent on agriculture.
*Concerns Raised by BJP:
*Forced Land Acquisition*: BJP leader Paramjit Singh Kainth alleges that the policy will lead to forced land acquisition, despite the government's claims of voluntary participation.
*Impact on Agricultural Laborers*: Kainth argues that the policy will destroy the future of farmers and agricultural laborers dependent on agriculture, neglecting their interests.
*Violation of Scheduled Caste Interests*: The BJP leader claims that the policy will violate the interests of Scheduled Castes and poor families who rely on agriculture for their livelihood .
