Kapurthala got two major projects worth Rs.39.16 crore as Chief Minister made online foundation stone

KAPURTHALA: Kapurthala district today got two major projects of Rs. 39.16 crore as the chief Minister Captain Amarinder singh laid the foundation stone online which would boost the employment opportunities for youth as well as facilitate to reduce the pollution level by vehicles. Both these institutes are to be set up at village Jhal Thikeiwala .

Institute of Driving and Traffic Research (IDTR) Kapurthala would be constructed with cost of Rs. 22.50 crore under Mission ‘Ghar Ghar Rozgaar te Karobar’, with training capacity of 20, 000 drivers annually to impart quality training to rural youth, and thus generate employment avenues as skilled drivers within the country and abroad.

It would include driving range, administrative complex, hostel block and workshop.

Training institute would be equipped with camera based Innovative Driving Testing System (IDTS) to assess the driving skills of the candidates.

Besides that Vehicle Inspection and Certification Centre, Kapurthala at a cost of Rs. 17.16 crore have the aim to safeguard the passengers and pedestrians, besides reducing vehicular pollution.

The Centre, with capacity to inspect 72, 000 vehicles annually, would test the road worthiness of vehicles before driving.
