KAPURTHALA: Kapurthala has becomes the “Har Ghar Jal District” as all 1.11 Lakh rural households of Kapurthala District in rural areas now have the provision of Clean Tap Water Supply in their homes with installation of functional household tap connections (FHTC).
Deputy commissioner kapurthala Mr Vishesh Sarangal today said that it was a matter of great satisfaction that the district has met the target much before the deadline till 2024.
He said that under “ Jal Jeevan Mission “ in rural areas 100 % households have been provided FHTC for drinking water.
It may be recalled that under Jal Jeevan Mission the target was to provide drinking water facility to every household by 2024, which has been achieved in Kapurthala district now.
He said that under this scheme the aim was to provide drinking water to the entire population in the rural areas, under which the water quality was also monitored with the help of technical assistance.
Apart from this, efforts are being made to repair and maintain the water supply pipes as well as to prevent misuse of water.
Hailing the efforts of district administration, water supply and people of the district , Deputy commissioner also urged them to make efforts to prevent contamination of natural water resources.
