AMRITSAR: The sacred image of Sri Guru Granth Sahib, who was shot Sri Harmandir Sahib during the June 1984 operation blue star, was adorned today at Gurdwara Shaheed Ganj Baba Gurbakhsh Singh behind Sri Akal Takht Sahib for Sangat(devotees) Darshan. Devotees can see from 10 AM to 3 PM till june 5.

At the same time, the bullet in the sacred form has also been kept to show to the sangat

This sacred figure was shot 37 years ago during the operation Blue Star on Sri Akal Takht Sahib and Sri Harmandir Sahib by the Congress government of India.

Yesterday, the Interim Committee of the Shiromani gurdwara Parbandhak committee had decided to beautify the injured Pawan Saroop of Guru Granth Sahib for Sangat Darshan, according to which Saroop has been honored.

Giani Jagtar Singh, head Granthi of Sri Harmandir Sahib, while sharing the painful story of Ghallughara in June 1984, said that a bullet hit the Holy Saroop in the firing from the South Gate. Which had reached the Bani of the glorious Sukhmani Sahib in Gauri Raag.

On this occasion the President of the SGPC Bibi Jagir Kaur said that the Blue star of June 1984 was a deep wound for the Sikh community which must be known to future generations.

She said that what could be more tragic than the fact that the Congress government of his own country had deployed troops on its own people. The nation has been enduring this pain for 37 years and it has been decided to show the sangat the signs of this siege in view of the Sikh sentiments.

She said that Saroop, who was injured during the blue star, would be kept for the visit of Sangat till June 5 and would be reconsidered after the martyrdom ceremony on June 6.

She also said that soon the gold leaf pierced with bullets would also be placed in front of the sangat.

Giani Gurmukh Singh, head Granthi of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, apprised the sangat about the service rendered to the injured and the limbs affected by the bullet. He said that from the cover of Saroop to the beginning of Gurbani the bullet mark has been kept the same.

Meanwhile, a large number of devotees visited the wounded holy scripture with an emotional mind.

Apart from arranging live broadcasts for the sangat from home and abroad, the Shiromani Committee also set up large screens near the Akal Takht.

On this occasion Gurbani kirtan was performed by the ragi jathas present at Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib and prayers were offered by Bhai Sultan Singh. They recited the gurbani *Santa naal vair kamavade..."
