Four-day Sufi Festival successfully concludes at Malerkotla

MALERKOTLA: The four-day Sufi festival organized by the Punjab government at the local government college concluded successfully today. On the last day, Anmol Gagan Mann, Cabinet Minister of Tourism and Cultural Affairs Department of Punjab attended as the chief guest.

Addressing the function, Anmol Gagan Mann said that the Punjab government led by Bhagwant Singh Mann has undertaken many steps to make the state Rangla Punjab in the true sense. This Punjab will have every color like Sufi music, heritage, culture, ancient sports, and brotherhood. To turn this dream into a reality, the Punjab government is in dire need of people's support.

Terming the land of Malerkotla as the land of brotherhood and blessings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, she said that the Sikh community was always indebted to Nawab Sher Muhammad Ji who had raised the voice to stop the martyrdom of the Chhote Sahibzaades. She said that the history of this city was connected with Sufism. That is why this festival was given to this city. She said that there was an effort to bring Sufism to every corner of the world. Apart from this, there is an effort to promote local small businesses worldwide. She announced that the Sufi Festival will be held in Malerkotla city every year.

Earlier, Malerkotla MLA Dr. Jamil ur Rahman welcomed the Cabinet Minister and other guests and thanked the Punjab Government for hosting this festival in the princely city of Malerkotla.

Earlier, Master Salim, Sardar Ali, Parvez Jhinjar, Abid Ali, Arham Iqbal, and Mohammad Aneesh entertained the crowd with their skills during "Jashan-e-Sufiana Kalam".

Deputy Commissioner Dr. Pallavi, Mr. Sanyam Aggarwal and Ms. Shena Aggarwal both IAS, Mr. Harkamalpreet Singh Khakh SSP, Mr. Rakesh Popli Additional Director Tourism Department, Saqib Ali Raja Chairman of District Planning Committee, Latif Ahmed Thind CEO Punjab Waqf Board, Mrs. Parminder Kaur Mander, and many others were present.
