AMRITSAR: Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, president of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, congratulated Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee on the foundation day of Shiromani Gurdwara Committee and said that the history of this Sikh organization, which came into existence with the sacrifices of many Sikhs, is glorious.
He said that the Shiromani Committee, during its one-century journey, took responsibility for the better arrangements of Gurdwara Sahibs, while also doing notable works in education and medical services along with the propagation of religion.
He said that the services rendered by the Shiromani Committee during natural calamities were discussed all over the world.
He also appealed to the entire Sikh panth to work together for the strengthening of this great institution of theirs.
Meanwhile Foundation Day of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee was celebrated at Gurdwara Sri Manji Sahib Diwan Hall within Sri Darbar Sahib complex.
On this occasion, after the bhog of Sri Akhand Path Sahib Ji, the ragi jatha of Bhai Shamandeep Singh, the present Ragi of Sachkhand Sri Harimandir Sahib, performed Gurbani Kirtan and after the prayer, the holy edict of Sachkhand Sri Harimandar Sahib was given by Giani Gurminder Singh.
Giani Gurminder Singh shared his views and said that our elders gave many martyrdoms for the establishment of Shiromani Committee. This organization of martyrs has always played a leading role for social work.
He appreciated the services rendered by the Shiromani Committee during natural calamities. Bhai Rajinder Singh Mehta, General Secretary of Shiromani Committee, speaking during the event, said that there are many religions in the world, but none of the religions has such a selected religious body as Shiromani Committee.
He said that it is the need of the hour to make a united effort to strengthen this supreme institution of the panth and to give a face-to-face response to the forces that are destroying the institution. He also congratulated all the members on the foundation day of Shiromani Committee. Meanwhile, former general secretary of Shiromani Committee Bhai Gurcharan Singh Grewal said that during the establishment of Shiromani Committee, Chali Lehar became the foundation of the country's independence.
He said that this Sikh organization has always served humanity without any discrimination.
He also appealed to those who spread false propaganda against the institution to give a befitting reply.
