PHAGWARA: The flood situation continued to remain grim as water level in the swollen Beas river again rises to 1.25 lakh cusec which started damaging and weaken five points at advance dhussi bundh in the worst affected villages Ahlikalan, karmuwala Pattan and Ahlikhurd in the Mand areas of Sultanpurlodhi according to official sources .
Rajya Sabha member sant Balbir singh Seechewal along with his followers with the help of farmers have strengthened 1000 foot long Advace dhussi bundh by putting fifteen thousand of sand filled bags at village Ahlikalan which was weakened due to soil erosion by flood waters of river Beas .Seechewal told that work on strengthening four more weak points at advance bundh was continuing with the help of farmers and weak point would be strengthened soon .
Meanwhile pong dam today released 75 thousand of cusec of water in swollen Beas river from pong dam according to Drainage department S.E Amarinder Singh Pandher .he said situation in the worst affected villages would improve with the decease in water level in the Swollen Beas river in the coming days in case rains stopped in the Hills .
He claimed that Dhussi bundh is intact and there is no danger to it.
