NAWANSHAHR:On the call of Samyukta Kisan Morcha, Delhi, the effigies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah will be burnt by Kirti Kisan Union here on October 16 at 12 noon in front of Reliance's Super Store at Chandigarh Road.  District President Surinder Singh Bains, state committee Member Bhupinder Singh Warraich and district secretary Tarsem Singh Bains said that they have invited the union workers to reach in front of Reliance Mall in large numbers in this regard.

They rued that despite the outcry from across the country, the Prime Minister has not expelled Union Home Minister Ajay Mishra, father of Ashish Mishra, the main culprit in the Lakhimpur Kheri incident, from the Union Cabinet. The PM did not even express grief, they lamented. The farmers had earlier decided to burn the effigies on Dussehra along with effigies of Ravana but in the interests of communal harmony, they decided to postpone their protest by a day.
