CHANDIGARH: In order to further intensify the ongoing Drive Against Drugs, Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab Dinkar Gupta, during a high-level virtual meeting on Sunday, directed all the Police Chiefs to launch a crackdown against the drug smugglers/suppliers in their concerned areas.

Identify all top drug smugglers and the hotspots infamous for drugs smuggling in your concerned areas and launch a combing operation to nab all those selling/smuggling drugs, ” said the DGP in a meeting, which was attended by all the senior Police Officials including ADGPs, IGsP, DIGs, CPs and SSPs.

DGP Gupta also asked the officials to arrest all the Proclaimed Offenders (POs) besides asking them to send detention proposals under the NDPS act so that action could be taken against kingpins.
