GURDASPUR:On the call of the Joint Punjab Government Doctors Coordination Committee organised a oritest rally against the reduction of 25 percent NPA to doctors, after protesting, different organizations have sent a demand letter to the Punjab government through DC.
Dr. Sushil, Dr. Ashok, Dr. Pooja, Dr. Harjinder, Dr. Arvind and Dr. Sham Singh jointly addressing the media persons that till now the Punjab government has been giving NPA equal to 25 percent of the primary salary to its government doctors. .
This NPA has been treated as part of the primary salary for every benefit. But it is a matter of great sadness that the Sixth Pay Commission constituted by the Punjab Government has recommended that the NPAs should be reduced from 25 per cent to 20 per cent and that no allowance other than the primary salary should be made part of the primary pay.
Hundreds of doctors have got corona infected during this epidemic and some doctors have even lost their lives. But instead of encouraging them, the government is going to exploit them financially by reducing their salaries., they said. They demanded that the decision be set aside immediately.
Their demands include making NPA 33 percent, NPA should be considered as part of primary salary as before, pension should be fixed considering NPA as part of primary salary and allowance should be given to doctors fighting the corona epidemic.
