GURDASPUR: Mr. Mohammad Ishfaq, District Magistrate, Gurdaspur has issued orders under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, extending from BSNL Chowk to Guru Ravidas Chowk in the city of Gurdaspur. Punjab Agricultural University, Regional Research Center, Gurdaspur) has been declared a 'No Vehicle Zone' daily from 4 am to 7 pm and from 6 pm to 7.30 pm. During this time only walkers, runners, bicycles and emergency vehicles will be able to use this road.
The orders further said that the Senior Captain of Police, Gurdaspur had brought to the notice that the road from BSNL Chowk to Guru Ravidas Chowk (via Punjab Agricultural University, Regional Research Center, Gurdaspur) in the city of Gurdaspur was public.
This road is used for morning and evening walks and races etc. and due to heavy traffic on this road in the morning and evening, the general public is inconvenienced for walks and races etc., due to which there was a risk of accidents.
