District Magistrate Amritsar declared dry day from 18th to 20th February and counting day on 10th March

AMRITSAR:Under the direction of Chief Electoral Officer, Punjab, Assembly elections are being held in Punjab on February 20, 2022. Counting will take place on March 10, 2022. In order to maintain law and order during this election process, the date of 18th February from 06:00 pm to 20th February, 2022 till the end of voting and the day of counting of votes ie March 10, 2022 has been declared as Dry Day.
In this regard District Magistrate Amritsar Mr. Gurpreet Singh Khaira exercising his powers under Section 54 of Punjab Excise Act 1914, within the limits of District Amritsar on 18th February, 2022 from 6 pm to 20th February, 2022. Till the end and on the day of counting of votes, March 10, 2022 has been declared as a dry day and opening of liquor contracts and storage of liquor has been completely banned. The ban will also apply to hotels, clubs and liquor premises where the sale of liquor is legally permitted.
