AMRITSAR: Former Minister Parminder Singh Dhindsa has thanked all those people who have come forward to help the flood victims and cooperated.

Dhindsa said that Punjabis sitting all over the world have helped the flood victims with their hearts. Punjabi artists, sportsmen and people from every section have made their full contribution, this spirit of doing good to all makes us unique.

Dhindsa said that, through the Amanat Foundation run by him, we are helping many villages of Halka Lehra with diesel and other goods. Along with this, he said that, in the memory of Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa , the Dhindsa family has decided to build seven houses.

Dhindsa said that, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is making his visit very late. While he should have taken stock of Punjab first. He was worried about the earthquake victims of Afghanistan but not about the people of Punjab. His attention has turned to Punjab only after the letter written by Shiromani Akali Dal President Giani Harpreet Singh .

Dhindsa said that, today Punjab hopes that the Prime Minister will definitely feel the pain of Punjab during his visit and announce a big economic package.

Dhindsa, while criticizing the Punjab government, said that, a huge scam has come to light in the cleaning of drains, rivers etc. and strengthening of embankments in Sangrur district. In the Lehra constituency, the minister of the concerned department gave cleaning contracts to his favourites and close relatives, in which a big scam cannot be ruled out, therefore these tenders and the contracts given should be investigated. Due to such mismanagement by the Punjab government, Punjab has suffered huge losses due to floods.
