Deputy Commissioner calls for immediate immunization of vaccine deprived people

GURDASPUR: Deputy Commissioner Gurdaspur Sh Mohammad Ishfaq today asked the people who are deprived of anti-Covid vaccine to get their vaccine before the Assembly elections.


He said that there were still 20-25 positive cases in the district and 197 active cases, due to which people need special attention from the point of view of protection.


The Deputy Commissioner further said that 95.08 per cent of the eligible population in the district has been given first dose and 73.63 per cent second dose.


The first dose has been given to 13 lakh 11 thousand 230 population and the second dose to 9 lakh 78 thousand 667 population. In the vaccination campaign, Gurdaspur district ranks third in the state in administering first dose.
He further said that for the convenience of the people vaccination was also being carried out from door to door while vaccination was being carried out at all the primary health centers, primary health centers, sub-divisional hospitals and civil hospitals. Apart from this youngsters in the age group of 15 to 18 years are also being vaccinated. Therefore, parents should get their children vaccinated so that their children can be protected from covid disease.
