Deputy Commissioner Amritsar gives green signal to campaign vans not to burn stubble

AMRITSAR: Deputy Commissioner Amritsar Mrs. Sakshi Sahni flagged off the campaign vans from the office of the Deputy Commissioner , here today to launch the government's campaign against burning stubble during Kharif 2025.

She said that these propaganda vans will roam around all the villages of Amritsar district and make farmers aware of not burning stubble .

The Deputy Commissioner said that burning of stubble pollutes the environment , damages the soil surface , kills friendly insects and destroys valuable nutrients. She said that the district administration has honored the farmers who have been taking proper care of stubble for the past time with “ Farmer Priority Card ” on the occasion of the 15th August event, under which those farmers will be eligible for benefits in government and non-government organizations. The Deputy Commissioner, Amritsar said that this year also the farmers who are taking proper care of stubble will be honored as “ Hero Farmers ” by the district administration and they will also be given financial assistance.

On this occasion, Mr. Rohit Gupta, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) , Amritsar , Mrs. Amandeep Kaur, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Urban Development) and Raman Kumar, DDO, Amritsar, Agriculture Department were present.
