Deep factionalism appears in Phagwara Congress at rally addressed by Navjot Sidhu

PHAGWARA: Deep Factionalism in the Congress was witnessed as most of the congress leaders remained absent from the congress rally organized by Phagwara MLA Balwinder Singh Dhaliwal and was addressed by Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee President Navjot Singh Sidhu at Phagwara on Sunday.

Those congress leaders did not attend the rally include Punjab Agro Industrial Corporation Chairman Joginder Singh Maan, Senior Congress Leader and Former PPCC Gen.Sect Harjit Singh Parmar, Punjab Mahila Congress Chairperson Balbir Rani Sodhi, Improvement Trust Phagwara Chairman Sohan Lal Banga, District Congress Committee Acting President Daljit Raju, Youth Congress Leader Saurav Khullar, Senior Leaders like Satbir Singh Sahbi, Sarpanch Avtar Singh Pandhwa and Market Committee Vice-Chairman Jagjiwan Khalwara. Joginder Singh Maan even alleged and asked PPCC President Navjot Sidhu, why he is patronising the corrupt politicians like Dhaliwal who was allegedly involved in post-matric scholarship scam.

Meanwhile addressing the rally in Grain Market Phagwara PPCC President Sidhu openly supported Phagwara MLA Dhaliwal and appealed to the people to strengthen the hands of congress for clean, transparent and
answerable stable administration.

Sidhu strongly criticised AAP Supremo Arvind Kejriwal for making false promises with the people. He however took SAD leaders Sukhbir Badal and Bikram Singh Majithia with firm hands alleging both were drowned in deep and rampant corruption .Sidhu held Badals and Majithia responsible for rapidly increasing Drugs Menace in the state and described them as drug traders. PPCC President Sidhu even did not spare his own government and said only FIR could be registered against Drugs Trader Majithia while much more is required yet.

While strongly condemning Former Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, PPCC Chief alleged that Captain and Badals were playing friendly matches during their tenures as none of the SAD Leader could be booked in Captain two term rule and nothing could be initiated to book Captain for Corruption during Akali’s rule.

Phagwara MLA Dhaliwal, in his address assured the people to come up to their expectations. Former Union Minister Smt Santosh Chaudhary, BCC President Sanjeev Bugga, Jatinder Vermani, Vinod Vermani, Market Committee Chairman Naresh Bhardwaj, Munish Bhardwaj were also present.
