DC orders to strictly enforce the ban on the use of plastics

KAPURTHALA:Deputy Commissioner kapurthala Deepti Uppal has asked the commissioners of Municipal corporations and EOs of Municipal councils to ensure the 100 % enforcement regarding the ban on use of plastics .

While presiding a meeting of district environment committee , DC saidthat the door to door garbage collection scheme should be implemented
at all houses for clean cities .

Taking the use of plastic seriously despite the ban, the Deputy Commissioner said that challans should be issued against the violators of the ban .

Advocating continuous inspection of Sewage Treatment Plants at Phagwara, Kapurthala, Sultanpur Lodhi, Begowal, the Deputy Commissioner said that inspection report should be submitted every month so that the treated water could be used for agriculture purposes.

To eradicate the piles of garbage in the cities, the Deputy Commissioner said that the piles of garbage lying on the non designated places should be verified and put in a suitable place within a month.

She also said that adequate arrangements should be made for proper management of bio-medical waste in all 460 hospitals, nursing centers,
primary health centers of the district.

Additional Deputy Commissioner General Aditya Uppal and officials of other departments were also present on the occasion.
