DC orders special girdawari for assessment of crop loss by incessant rains

PHILLAUR, KAPURTHALA: Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Ghanshyam Thori and DC Kapurthla Deepti Uppal  today ordered revenue officials including DRO and SDMs to start special girdawari in their jurisdiction to assess the crop loss caused by heavy rains and gusty wind.

Thori n Uppal while giving details told this correspondent here today  that the teams of the revenue officers were already directed to initiate the survey and complete it in a time-bound manner.

The Deputy Commissioners  further said that the Revenue officers have been asked to meticulously prepare the report so that farmers could be provided relief at the earliest. They reiterated that the district administration was duty-bound to ascertain the loss incurred by farmers and to ensure adequate and timely compensation for them.

The said that the administration would extend a helping hand to the farmers in this hour of crisis and ensure that even a single penny of their loss was fully compensated.
